Marking the exact coordinates of the westernmost extent of Europe, this monument and viewing platform lets you look out over the endless ocean from cliffs rising 140 meters high. The wind here can be incredibly fierce and cold, so always bring a jacket and stay strictly behind the wooden barriers for safety.
Dating back to 1772, this operational lighthouse features a bright red balcony and white tower that perfectly contrast the blue ocean, adding historic charm to the rugged landscape. While you cannot usually go inside the lighthouse itself, it serves as an excellent focal point for your coastal photography.

Reaching Cabo da Roca requires navigating narrow coastal roads:
The most common way to arrive is taking the Scotturb bus (Route 403), which runs a scenic route between the towns of Sintra and Cascais, dropping you directly at the cape.
If you rent a car, the drive through the natural park is stunning, but parking at the cape can become congested during peak summer afternoons. Arrive early to secure a spot easily.
