Greece is easy to travel but has a few things that surprise people. The most important: Uber works only as UberTaxi (it books licensed yellow taxis at the official fare), because private-driver UberX is banned. Most Greeks use the FreeNow app. Ferries and island buses are the main way to move around the islands.

A per-night "climate resilience" fee paid at your accommodation, higher in summer and for higher-star hotels

Archaeological sites

Many major sites raised prices in April 2025; buy on the official Hellenic Heritage site
